At this point in the play, the end of Act 4, how do you think it will end?

Mr. Sullivan, my 12th grade English teacher, made us dress up in Burger King crowns and sword fight with paper towel tubes to make sense of Shakespeare's Hamlet. Here at the American School in Guadalajara we are going to use the internet instead. In the posts below, follow us as we seek to understand why this really is the greatest play in the English language.

ReplyDeleteI think the plan will go on, but Hamlet will tell Laertes the truth. Laertes will then doubt himself to believe in the uncle or in Hamlet, therefore he commits suicide. Hamlet will then kill his uncle and then his mother will cry and maybe kill hamlet unless Hamlet tells her the uncle killed her husband. She will not kill Hamlet and both the son and mother will live happily ever after. (While eating tacos!!)

ReplyDeleteI think Hamlet will kill the uncle, but there would be ether a revolution or an invasion from another country and the royal family (Hamlet and mother) would have to run away and never go back to Denmark. I imagine this because during the trailer of the movie there was a part that an army stormed the palace. . .
I think that at th sword fight somehoe Hamlet is going to kill Leartes instead of leartes killing him. Them because he won at the toast everything is going to go wrong and the cup with the poison is not going to be drank by Hamlet insted it is goig to be drank by gertrude and she is the one that is going to die. Then somehow Hamlet is going to get to Claudius room and while he is asleep he is going to kill him but just before he does so he is ging to make him suffer. Them because Hmalet cant take all thaat happened he is just goig to commit suicide.

ReplyDeletei think that since Ophilia died right after her fathers death, Ophilia's brother is now raging with anger and is going to take revenge on Hamlet, and when Hamlet dies, Hamlets mother is going to put all of the pieces together and is going to kill the king for killing her ex husband and for the death of her son Hamlet.

ReplyDeleteI think that during the sword fight Hamlet will start feeling bad and realize that he has been poisoned. Then he will take advantage of that moment, get out of the battle and king before he dies first. I believ that Hamlet will get his revenge. While he is ditracted killing the king, Laertes will stick the sword into Hamlet and get his revenge too. And the punishment of Gertrude, will be living with the pain and some guilt about what happened, her son and husband-brother in law both murdered.

ReplyDeleteIn the battle Hamlet and Ophelia's brother will both get injured by the sword with poison, Gertrude will drink the poison made for Hamlet and she will die too. Hamlet will kill Claudius and both of them will die :) Laertes, Hamlet, Gertrude, Claudius, Ophelia, Polonius, Hamlet's father.. everyone will be dead except Horatio... x.x

ReplyDeleteI think that the play will end with Hamlets revenge, he will figure out about the poison thats in the cup and on the sword and i think that he will switch swords and stab Ophelias brother. He will die and then he will kill claudius with the same poison that he killed his father with.

ReplyDeleteHamlet and Laertes will fight and Laertes will fail to kill him, Hamlet isn't stupid enough to drink from the cup or maybe he will pretend drinking the poison and then pretend to be dead so he can come back again with a better plan to kill his uncle.
I think that Hamlet and Laerted will fight and Hamlet will pretend to drink the poison. Everyone will think he is dead and then he will come up again and kill his uncle and everyone will end up knowing the truth.

ReplyDeleteHamlet will probably turn his uncles plan around. Whther it is by switching swords or cups. and I'm sure more characters besides them are going to die. Gertrude is defenetely on this balck list. She is one of the causes of this whole ordeal, people almost always get what they deserve in old plays. Hamlet is going to be killed maybe by his uncle or he will commit suicide.
